Crucible Conglomeration by komodomatta Crucible Conglomeration by komodomatta
For those of you who have read the Crucible by Arthur Miller, sorry if this isn't how you imagine the characters. The only characters I don't like how I rendered here are Giles Corey and Tituba. (But I did imagine her fat and middle aged. In the movie, she was like 24 and super pretty. >_o Destroyed my image of her.)

My rendition of Elisabeth looks a lot like Winona Ryder as Abigail. Which is an unfortunate event.

Cheever is win. xD I imagined him something of a slimey, greasy guy. Just overall ehhhh.

And I am told Proctor looks like Jesus. Not intentional.

At any rate, Hale is my favourite character. I have so many other pictures of Hale (most of which are of him lamenting how he has betrayed God, etc, etc...) He just seems to me like the most conflicted OMGMYLIFESUCKS guy in the entire play.
I mean he's a priest for goodness sakes. And by the end of the play, he finds out that he just murdered like 17 innocent people. HOW GREAT IS THAT.

And for some reason, I stuck in a Chum picture. xD So attractive.

<3 Danforth. He looks so great here.

Just a tiny bit insulting, seeing as we're doing a play of the Crucible and I'm Cheever.... Then again I did in again him about the same way. Meh.

Yeah XD but I was a sexy Cheever if I do say so myself... XD Not really. I was crossdressing and yeah XD. I even fail said that Abigail Williams wasn't in the court instead of Ruth Putnam on the last night, but no one listens to Cheever so its good.

Wowee, I just came upon this a few days ago while I was reading this book in english class!
Nice designs you got there. I especially love Hale's. (He and Elizabeth are my favorites.)
Proctor looks like Jesus? *snicker*

Heehee, thanks! This is one of those things that I drew a billion years ago, but I still look back on affectionately.

I'm still a sucker for Hale. Probably his one biggest fan. -lame-

We're reading this in english. We are also being forced to watch the movie (which i don't like). John Proctor looks like a combo of Sirius Black and Jesus in the movie :XD:

Hahaa! The worst part is that I had this perfect picture of him in my head.

And I was just.

What.

And thus, my pictures of Hale. (:

Pahaa, fortunately, I have since wiped that image of him from my head. (:

Have you read the Scarlet Letter yet?

yes...we are reading it now. I am sad to say i don't like it. I would like the story if it weren't so elaborated with thousands of words I don't know and if it didn't go on and on and on about the same thing. When I read, i visualize the characters acting their scene in my head. When stories go on and on about descriptions, words completely lose all meaning and i fall asleep :(

:C I loved that book so much.

I absolutely adore Dimmesdale. In fact, I draw him still so regularly that he's practically one of my few characters.

Aie, but I should not give away any spoiler. It is good stuff. (:

I really like this. I like how you've characterized them all with their expressions as well as their general looks. I like how Proctor and Hale both have similar expressions, but, just the way I'm looking at it, I can tell that there are subtle differences (which...you know, is good, the characters are different).

Lol, Elizabeth also has the same expression.

But thank you SO SO SO much for this comments. alskfhsolfdeifh. Just made my life. Hahaa. Character differentiation is something that I've been struggling with forever and I know I still need a lot of work, but this is encouraging. So thanks. :thanks:

Thanks! Hale was the major person I really liked in the book. He was a complete idiot and in the end, his entire universe is flipped.

I also hate how they portrayed him in the movie version that I watched. I imagined him with flowy yellow hair. ^^ So thank you.

Also, thanks for the other fave and the watch!

I just finished reading all four acts of this, as it was a required reading in my English three class...

I was rather freaked out when I read this in my spark notes for "the Crucible", but it said in the play's epilog that Abigail became a Boston prostitute... O.o

Oh lord. We had to read this my 11th grade year, and I live in a town full of Jesus freaks. It was terrible how many people sided with the ones prosecuting people.

This made me giggle when I saw it, cause we also watched the movie and you're pretty much dead on with the way some of them looked. lol

I think it's a required reading for all American high schools (I could be wrong though).

Really? People in your school actually supported the RELIGIOUS DEATH CREW? That's very unique of them. Haha.

"Oh, we have to kill these last 5 people otherwise it'll make us look like idiots for murdering 12 innocent people."

I saw Hale in the movie and his hair was big. I did not like it.

It is. Every junior at my high school had to read it. Crucible week was the worst.

And they did. It's that bad here. No one has an open mind about anything. You either conform or keep your mouth shut. ;shrug; People really are killed for "Christianity" here. :/

I totally saw like, some public television movie. Was that the one you saw?

If it's the one with Daniel Day Lewis and Winona Ryder. I think it's the only one.

That's so weird. O_o I didn't even know people like that still existed. Haha. Very interesting to know. I'm extraordinarily fascinated by all religions except Christianity (but that's only because Christians are very hostile toward me). But I really do want to learn more about Christianity (if only those Christians would stop trying to bite off my head when I ask them about their religion.) );

Personally, I enjoyed the play. (:

Ha. That's not the one. Ours was sooo low budget.

It's pretty sick around here. It's mainly the reason I'm quietly atheist. I used to go to a baptist church but they did some really scary things and were so extreme that I had to stop going. I tried out other churches but it was a lot of the same brimstone and damnation preaching. I figured that if no one would talk about how good their God was then there was no point.

Yes, it was well written. Doing work on it was IMPOSSIBLE.

Haha, thanks! He's overreacting to a simple sentence (today's equivalent of "Oh my god, that girl is crazy" ) and trying to use that to persecute someone of witchcraft.

It's a play, so it's pretty easy to read. I think it's part of the curriculum for every American high school. (Not sure though.)
